First Friend

Baby Audrey and my friend Charlotte stopped by to see us for the day on their travels through Syracuse. Audrey has grown so much since our last play date. We definitely were wishing that they lived closer so we could play all the time! I guess in the craziness of becoming a new mom I forgot on my first posting (first play date) to mention how we knew each other. Ok, just to make sense of things here it goes–Charlotte and I have known each other since high school and have kept in touch all these years despite living in different locales. We both got pregnant within a week of each other and little Audrey was born 2 days before Sophia. Amazing!!! And so Sophia has her very first friend. Okay, so Sophia can't decide who her friends are yet, but I think she would agree with me.

Turning Stone/The Londons

We headed to the casino for the day so that Sophia could meet Aunt Jo, Uncle Buddy, and Aunt Robin who were visiting from Long Island. During our visit little spunky Sophia had an array of behaviors and expressions. We captured some of them as each Aunt took a turn holding her. From top to bottom Sophia with Aunt Jenna, Aunt Robin, and finally with Aunt Jo.

Okay guys I've had enough! Stop passing me around.

Lovin' Food and Almost Sitting

Um...I love prunes

Turning over has become old hat and she is scooching on all fours, currently she only moves backwards. If I turn my head for just a second she has tumbled from one side of the room to the other. She really is such an active baby! She has also started to lunge at objects, which is cute except when I am holding her and don't expect it. Along with her increased ground mobility  at only five months she is practically sitting. She does teeter a bit, but is able to use her hands to push her back to a seated position a time or two before she crashes to the floor. We have tired to minimize the trauma of falling my exclaiming "Kaboom!" and then moving on to the next activity. As for the eating she has taken to it well and loves to involve her fingers in getting whatever food is being consumed all over.
